At the Herald de Paris, we believe a compassionate world in an enlightened world. That is why we are proud to have joined with the United Nations Foundation to help make your thoughtful and generous donations go directly and immediately to the relief efforts in Haiti, Chile, and now Mexico, following each nation’s devastating earthquake.
The people of Haiti, Chile, and now Mexico still need us all. Please, donate what you can. Thank you.
Within hours after the earthquake, the UN’s Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) dispersed an immediate $10 million for urgent Haiti relief efforts and the UN Foundation announced an additional $1 million to address immediate humanitarian and re-construction needs. To date, the UN’s Office of the Coordination for Humanitarian Assistance (OCHA) has made $25 million available for response efforts and supplies. We are asking our partners and friends to add their support by contributing to UN emergency response efforts at: www.unfoundation.org/donate/cerf.html.
The Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) is a humanitarian fund established by the United Nations to enable more timely and reliable humanitarian assistance to those affected by natural disasters and armed conflicts.
A massive 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated Haiti on January 12. The UN has already released millions of dollars from the CERF to extend immediate assistance and rescue missions. Read more about the UN response to the Haiti disaster.
Then, an even more massive 8.8 magnitude earthquake devastated Chile on February 27. The UN has already responded to the Chile disaster, again drawing from the CERF to extend immediate assistance and rescue missions.
Help the UN help in time: donate NOW.
