Help Name a Panda Cub!

On August 23, 2013, giant panda Mei Xiang gave birth to a cub at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo. In keeping with Chinese tradition, the new panda will be named when she is 100 days old. She will be 100 days old on December 1.

The choices for the cub’s name are:
Bao Bao (precious treasure)
Ling Hua (darling, delicate flower)
Long Yun (Chinese symbol of the dragon; charming)
Mulan (legendary young women, smart and brave Chinese warrior)
Zhen Bao (treasure, valuable)

You can help pick the cub’s name by visiting the Smithsonian Magazine website and voting! The winning name will be announced on December 1.
