NEW YORK (Herald de Paris) – The beautiful and charismatic Emily Easterly played a show at Mercury lounge on Saturday, March 21st, 2009 to promote her new release Heart Comma Heart.

Armed with her talented back-up band, Emily dove in to her repertoire of energetic songs. Her set was well-rounded, full of beautifully written songs from her recent release, and those prior. Emily’s soulful voice and upbeat melodies were reminiscent of Ryan Adams and got the crowd, bursting with friends and family, going. For the last songs Emily was joined on stage by Chris Cubeta from Chris Cubeta and the Liars to finish of her wonderful set.

Emily Easterly was enjoyable, cute and amazingly talented delivering a great show.

[DISCLOSURE:  I have known Emily Easterly since she was five years old.  Even at that young age, when the rest of us (her siblings and mine) were all out playing in the swimming pool, Emily was in the house writing poetry and making music.  Of all the kids on that street, Emily was, at any age and with anyone, the one with whom you could have an actual conversation.  She has never changed.  Her smile has never changed.  From the concert stage to the backyard pool, what you get and what you only get is 150% Emily Easterly.  I am extremely proud of what a truly good performer and songwriter she has become, and despite more years than I care to mention, I am thrilled to still call her a friend, and that I can again watch her blossom.   – Jes Alexander, Publisher]
